JEANS TEAM

Jeans Team has been creating electronic music since 1995 and is based in Berlin, Germany. They combine elements of dance music with complex pop-structures using minimal (mostly German) lyrics. The band became known through their hits "Keine Melodien", "Baby 3", "Oh Bauer" and "Das Zelt". Jeans Team is a co-founder of the galerie berlintokio, one of Berlins most magnetic and stimulating underground places in the late 90ies.It is the place of their very first live performances, rehearsals and recordings. Here they produced their first punk singles, "Hi Fans" and "Ein Atom", which were released in 1998 on their own label, Nadel Eins. That same year they have the chance to buy the Jeans Team neon sign. It is the abandoned sign of a former jeans shop they found hanging on a wall in Berlin Wedding. They love the idea to find a name, and fill it up with new content. The Sign is turned into a mobile light system that from now on is not only logo and brand mark, but also lightshow on stage. In 2000, Jeans Team signed with the record label Kitty-Yo, and released "Ding Dong" and "Gold und Silber". In 2004, the band broke away from Kitty-Yo and teamed up with the newly formed record label Louisville-Records to release two additional albums called "Musik von Oben" and "Kopf Auf". All their recordings are done in Jeans Team's own studio, called Nadel Eins Studio Berlin. They have performed on many tours within Europe, and have also played in Russia, the US and Canada. The fact that they sing in German doesn't seem to bother anyone, as the performances are more about their specific energy and show rather than the language they sing in. Within the young German music scene, Jeans Team has become a force to be reckoned with. Many other bands look up to the unconventional style of Jeans Team as a new standard.
